On Thursday, President Trump announced on Truth Social that Intel has struck a deal to build processors for Apple. These statements come after speculation of the two companies working together.
Bernstein analyst Stacy Rasgon said that deal would likely be for “low-volume, less important parts,” going on to say, “Intel will of course have to prove their mettle before being granted more substantial wins, but the first step is always the hardest, so at least they appear to be taking that step.”
This news comes after news about Intel reaching deals with Google for Tensor Processing Units (TPUs) and Nvidia for processors.
Also, Intel reported its 18A-P processors heading to the initial production phase, preparing for full-volume production.
Intel has carved itself a space in chip manufacturing due to the overwhelming demand from AI. Taiwan Semi-Conductor is the world’s largest chip manufacturer, but it can’t keep up with demand. This has AI giants like Nvidia and Google turn to Intel to help.
